    1.      OUR VISION, MISSION AND OUR TASK
    1.1     Our vision is to continuously upgrade our school to offer only the
    best possible education, security, love and opportunities to every
    child who attends Pikkewouterland.
    1.2     To render an exclusive service to parents and children including
    all the races of South Africa.
    1.3     Our mission is to stay updated with all aspects of child education
    by regularly sending staff members to attend educational seminars and
    presentations.
    1.4     It is also our mission to do whatever is needed to secure the
    safety and well-being of every child at Pikkewouterland.
    1.5     Pikkewouterland is a Christian orientated school where children
    are educated to respect authorities and to love one another and
    themselves.

    2.      SECURITY AND PEACE OF MIND FOR THE PARENT
    We are at all times aware of the safety of our children and we strive
    to maintain a safe and relaxed environment by using the following
    measures:

    a)      An entrance gate that can only be released from the office.

    b)      Children may only regularly be fetched by their parents or nominated and identified persons who have been introduced to the principal and staff.
    c)      Should an emergency come up and the child cannot be fetched by a known person, the parents, have to phone and identify the new appointed person by giving a description of the person and to ask the person to present an ID document. The parent must also provide the person with a secret password, which has to be verified at the office.
    d)      Regular updating of First Aid competency.

    3.      WHAT OUR SCHOOL OFFERS
    3.1     We host children 2yrs – 6yrs.
    3.2     Qualified teachers and well-trained, competent class assistants.
    3.3     Grade R class with a qualified teacher who has been with Pikkewouterland for over 14 years.
    3.4     We follow the prescribed curriculum plus CAPS for Gr-R.
    3.5     Teachers are regularly attending in service training courses.
    3.6     Extra mural activities:
    3.6.1   Swimming (across the road)

    3.6.3   Playball
    3.6.4   Ricky Rhino Computers (Gr-R)
    3.6.5   Action Ball
    3.6.6   Ballet
    3.6.7   Handy Hands (Gr-R)

    3.6.10  Kindermuzik
    (These activities and costs are arranged between parents and
    presenters)

    4.4     Discount for 2nd child R200 per month.

    5.      ENROLMENT
    All applicants must fill in the Application form and Agreement
    available at the office.
    In order to secure an application, the registration fee + R1000 of the
    deposit must be paid together with the submission of the Application
    Form. The above amounts will be forfeited, should the child not report
    for tuition.

    6.      SCHOOL HOURS
    Ø       Monday to Friday: 06:30 until 18:00
    Ø       R100 penalty (per each 15 min), immediately payable, if children
    are left until after 18:00.
    Ø       School will be closed during public holidays. The school reserves
    the right to implement a special long week-end in special situations.
    Parents will be informed in good time. The school will annually be
    closed as from approx. the second Friday of December until approx. the
    first or second Wednesday after New Year.

    7.      MEALS
    School provides breakfast (08:00), lunch (12:00) and afternoon snack
    (15:00). Mom provides healthy snack (no sweets) and small juice for
    09:30.
    Menus are weekly displayed on window of the classroom next to the
    office.

    8.
          COMMUNICATION AND MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION
    Regular circulars to keep parents informed about school matters.
    Each child must have an A5, 96 pages Hardcover Book which will daily
    be used by the teachers and parents.
    Medium of instruction mainly English, but where there are Afrikaans
    children in the Class, the instruction becomes dual medium.

    9.      EMERGENCY TRANSPORTATION

    Although an indemnity will be signed, no educator will be permitted to
    transport any child to a hospital. Should there be an emergency, the
    ambulance services will be phoned and you will be liable for full
    payment.
