We are part of a small group of Educares, pre-primary schools, primary
and high school.
Pikkie Park has been operating for just under 30 years and currently
has 4 parents who themselves were taught by some of our staff. Three
of whom recently celebrated 25 years of service. Most schools offer a
similar daily routine but our experienced staff make the difference:
General Information & Services
We operate Monday to Friday – 6:45am to 6pm. We are open during all
school holidays & only close for period between Christmas and New
Year
We offer a half day as well as a Full Day service. The half day
service strictly ends at 14:00pm
We supply Breakfast & Lunch as well as teatime snacks consisting of
sandwiches& Rooibos Tea. Our lunches are home cooked meals and the
menu is displayed on our notice board
We employ 25 qualified staff and our class attendance average between
15 and 25 children, depending on the age group
A shuttle service is available in the area as an optional extra
Our Extra Mural Activities are: Playball, Ballet, Modern Dancing,
Experei-buddies, Computers, music, Swimming and creative arts. These
classes operate during school terms and are optional extras
Our Playgrounds are spacious with a variety of outdoor equipment
Competitive Rates. No deposit payment is required, only a nominal
enrolment fee
We have created an educare where children learn whilst having fun. Our
staff are well qualified and our classrooms are spacious and well
equipped.
Although the day is structured and run as per the daily routine, our
teachers are focused on making the activities fun and interesting
while the little ones are not even aware that they are busy learning.
Age Group – 18 months to 2 years (or until potty trained)
Daily Group Routine with weekly theme related Activities (Creative &
perceptual)
Most activities take place in the morning and the rest of the day is
left to free play, stories & songs
We potty train consistently between activities at regular intervals
2 Progress reports are provided during the year
Potty Training is only started when your toddler is ready and your
little one will only move to the next level when he or she is
confidently independent in this area
Age Group – 2 yr to 3 yr olds and 3 yr to 4 yr olds
+/- 22 children with a teacher and a class assistant
Weekly Themes and Daily Routine incorporating activities such as
morning ring, music & movement, creative expression, literacy &
perceptual activities
Learning through play and exploring
Optional participation in extra mural activities
2 Progress Reports during the academic year
